Mentoring is a long-term, supportive relationship where a more experienced individual (the mentor) guides and supports the personal and professional development of a less experienced individual (the mentee). Coaching, on the other hand, is a more focused and task-oriented approach, aimed at improving specific skills or performance. Both are essential for fostering a learning culture onboard. The main difference however, in mentoring you aim to transform your mentee to become like you, while in coaching you coach your team to be at their best on skills that you yourself probably may not be able to do expertly.
